Introductory meeting - course outline
March 3, 2:05pm

Handout discussed with emphasis on student expectations, re. Assessments (mark allocations) and the 'contributing student approach'.

Exemplary contributions - if anyone believes a student has earnt credit for contribution to the wiki or HTTB, they can be recommended to the lecturer.

question - There is no exact mark for failing the course, and an overall 50% mark may not result in a passing grade.

Labs - attendance expected, although it is accepted some labs may be missed for whatever reason. difficult tasks/obstacles should become practise questions for friday lectures.

question - The final class lab report must be completed by the following monday.

question - Individual lab reports must be completed at the end of each lab, or while the maintenance team can still use it to write the model solution to the lab.

The 'un-lecture' is exactly the same as a normal meeting, only it is run by students.

Camstudio software - to be used to create screen-casts for the wiki and HTTB. found at: [1] I think the video player on this program may not work for vista, wmp works fine for the files. Also i don't think there will be a mac version.

Students should use the 'talk' function/page to give feed-back and it is thought that each individual should build a profile to list all work on the wiki and HTTB.

  • The CS/SE FORUMS are still active and can be used for asking questions and sorting doubts.

Meeting closed at 2:55pm
