Justification for the above scores

  • Task 1/2: Strangely dull and uninteresting. Not much effort was made to address the underlying concepts, it was more rather "this is add, this is remove". Stating a line or two of code wasn't particularly flash.
  • Task 3: Better, actual concepts and governing classes were touched on. Also importantly, realised that there are many ways to do things and looked at both alternatives. Ordering was explained well.
  • Task 4: Very nice work. Slides were clear and informative. Rather than showing a block of code, the actual methods and concepts were explained first. Hong Yul nudged him and he had the right answers. Very useful to mention the JDK and online resources, probably the most useful segment throughout the semester!
  • Task 5: Using powerpoint again was a plus, however slides seemed to be more 'read out' this time. Took on the concepts more so than the actual block of code, which again is very good.
  • Optional Tasks: Obviously knows what he is doing, and MultiMap is going to be pretty damn useful in the future. Unfortunately keeping up with the implemenation naturally wasn't easy, as unless one looks at the code himself, it can look like gibberish very quickly. Not enough was mentioned with regards to the actual adding of more criterion, but Hong Yul made up for that shortly.

One aspect of the session that was particularly good

The use of ppt slides, I suddenly have new found respect for powerpoint..

One part of the session that could have been improved

The task 1 section was weak, but it can be argued that there wasn't much to explain.
