Justification for the above scores

Scores were adjusted according to the following:

  • Much more effort put into content than the last group.
  • The first question was well written as it covered a wide range of topics and provoked thought about them.
  • Jargon question was good as it reinforced ideas that were essential to understanding of java.
  • The outcome of the string question was interesting as the output of "nullnull" was unexpected by most, however the relevance of the question to the course was doubtful.
  • The crossword was fun and tested knowledge about topics that were recently covered in class. However, the lack of reward for completion of the crossword meant that the activity failed to promote competition and was thus very unmotivating. In addition, Number 13 in the crossword puzzle's answer was "polymorphism" where the clue asked for a variable. This does not make sense.

One aspect of the session that was particularly good

  • The detailed questions and explanations.

One part of the session that could have been improved

  • The aforementioned error in the crossword puzzle and the semi-relevant question should have been questioned.
